Last night Mars, alone
In a city sky flooded by diffuse light
This morning leaves shriveling on grass
The river trapped log with ducks
The step after step shedding
Of righteousness, of wanting
Of shaking through the night
And I walk and walk and walk
A last gasp autumn flower
A leaf yesterday red, today fallen
Last night Mars
This morning two ducks
Swimming towards a river trapped log
Falling into the now
Into this step, this leaf, this log, this duck
This river
